“The effectual fervent prayer of a
righteous man availeth much.”

James 5:16.

Have you ever prayed for fire?

The last time I did, something truly wonderful happened. That was two decades ago. It’s sobering to have to pray for fire again, but recent attacks by the enemy make it absolutely necessary.

Four e-mails set the stage for this prayer; the first, this gentle reprimand.

“On the matter of the high bill you have received to conduct your program, read the chapter: Result of Transgression in the book Prophets and Kings by E.G. WHITE. Take note of what she said here: "But Solomon lost sight of this opportunity to exercise faith in God. He sent to the King of Tyre for a man cunning to work in gold ...” 2 Chronicles 2:7.

Is this what I’ve done?

  • In hiring a Sunday-keeper to edit our videos, have I gone to the King of Tyre?
  • Have we been extravagant with the Lord’s funds and paid our editor too much?

Several thoughts come to mind. First, our previous video producer was also a Sunday-keeper. We worked with him for over 20 years and paid him at a comparable rate.

When we launched our presence on the internet with The Road To Tivoli series, we did so while entering two of Jamaica’s garrisoned (heavily armed) communities with what was available to us at the time – a highly professional, non-SDA television crew. These inner-city mission field videos have been compelling, one having become our most highly rated video ever, having been viewed over 137,000 times by audiences from 98 different countries.

In giving these non-Seventh-day Adventists the job, had I gone to the King of Tyre?

Wait, there’s more.

When we return to Israel to shoot our most ambitious telecast, God’s Challenge to Islam, we’ll be using a Jewish crew that knows the locale, knows the authorities, and knows the regulations that govern outdoor filming in Israel.

Will we again be soliciting help from the King of Tyre?

Were it not for this Jerusalem-based television crew I might already be dead, for without them I might have plunged ahead and made the mistake of using the name “Jesus” at the Wailing Wall or at the Dome. How was I to know the name “Jesus” is taboo at both places? Uttering it at the Dome, I’m told, would have meant being escorted from this Islamic shrine possibly at gunpoint. Uttering it at the Wall could have given Orthodox Jews a pretext to stone me to death.

Really? Thank God the King of Tyre was there to warn me.

Here’s how we responded to the e-mailed scolding. My first response was immediate. The second came after a bit of reflection.

“Do you know of any competent Seventh-day Adventist video editor living in the Orlando area? Do you know of any who would charge less? $50 per hour is a fair rate for what professional video editors do. I do not regret giving this assignment to one not of our faith, not in the least, and am 100% confident God will signal His approval in a marked way.”

A few minutes later we sent this.

“I forgot to mention, of William Miller it is said: “A class of minds are reached by him not within the influence of other men.”—The Great Controversy, page 331. No matter the truths being taught, there are some minds that will forever disdain poor grammar and horrible elocution. Possessing professional standards, it will be impossible to reach these with any inferior production.

Q.  What sets The (New, Illustrated) Great Controversy apart from other editions of the book?

A.   The over 400 quality photographs contained therein.

Q    What sets our videos apart from many others?

A.   Content, yes; but it simply cannot be denied that a major reason why our videos are as compelling as they are, is the quality of their production.

Our videos, like our sermons, will reach a class of minds impossible to be reached by others.”

What does this have to do with fire?

It sets the stage for what I’m about to tell you.

Week before last we got another e-mail which I’ll summarize; this one was from a German engineer who, among other things, described his profession as demanding precision at all times. Shaped by his profession, he said his mind is wed to the highest analytical standards.

Why had he contacted us?

To let us know he’ll be supporting us because he believes we’re “continuing the Reformation begun by Luther.

That’s quite a compliment, to be sure, but it begs the question: Would a mundane telecast have elicited this response? Would a telecast void of graphics and consisting merely of what’s called in the television industry a “talking head” have held his interest? Would such a telecast have convinced him to step up to the plate and support us?

I doubt it.

The time taken in research, in script writing, in set design, in frame-by-frame editing – and the funds spent to bring this telecast alive with relevant photos and video clips – all combined to make a powerful impression upon him.

  • Resurrecting Luther’s fiery quotes about the pope as antichrist probably started the process.

  • The martyrdom of Hus and Jerome in Constance (now the German city, Konstanz), had to have added to his sense of the Reformation being relived.

  • Add to that the trials of Wycliffe and the martyrdom of Latimer and Ridley over in England, and one can readily see why our sermons carried him back to the Reformation.

But there was so much more to the Adventist Crime Scenes series.
  • Having grown up in post World War II Germany, our brother would probably have been moved by the scenes of Neville Chamberlain flying to Munich in a desperate attempt to meet Hitler and stave off war.

Memory would have been fanned at the sight of …

  • Brezhnev’s troops in Prague, and

  • Churchill in Parliament.

  • And then there was the real treat in Part 4 of seeing up close B. B. Beach’s “piece of paper” – i.e., the gold medallion presented to the Pope.

This golden metaphor depicting the Chamberlain-like drift of God’s church toward Babylon would not have been lost on him. He might have heard of the medal, but it was probably the first time he was seeing it for himself. Outside of the replicas sold by our ministry in 1990, where else on this planet were God’s people to go to see this abomination for themselves?

Yes, our telecasts are a cut above the mundane – and unapologetically so. Was $50 per hour too much to pay to attract the logical, discerning mind of this engineer? Is $50 per hour too much to pay to strengthen the faith of God’s children?

I don’t believe so! Though the average gift to our ministry is still roughly $25.00, I believe that as a result of the quality of our videos, not only have regular people like you and I been attracted to our ministry, but in addition, there are also people of means who’ve watched these same clips who are praying, even now, for direction as to whether they should donate millions of dollars to help us republish The (New, Illustrated) Great Controversy.

I’m sure of it!

And what is God using to tug at their hearts?

  • The shortness of time? Yes!
  • The uniqueness of our edition of The Great Controversy? Yes!
  • The passion and urgency of our barking? Yes!

Yes! Yes! Yes! But equally forceful is the quality of everything we do! Our books are quality! Our videotapes are quality! Quality, quality, quality – it’s alluring.

So alluring that it elicited this fresh comment at YouTube, under Adventist Crime Scenes, Part 5. Here this dear Russian saint is referring to our book, The (New, Illustrated) Great Controversy.

“You inspired me to do the same in Russia on the scale that is available to me ... Where and how shall I buy the right to re-edit it in Russian?”

Following up her request with e-mail, she continues:

“As of today, I am not only disappointed, but kind of repelled by books published here … since they either introduce elements of Catholicism or are plainly spiritualistic though published by the General Conference.

“Right now I am convinced that working with them and for them is far from doing God's work. Moreover, I am afraid I to a certain time was part of the enemy's plan of fooling our people into mindlessness.

“If only I could be of at least some help and do something for people to get in touch with far better books that are not available here. As for Ellen White’s works, they are not published here anymore. If compilations are published, ‘meat’ is thrown out of them. So, here I am, think if you can use me.”

Her assessment of the state of the publishing work in Russia is so sad. In a follow-up report I’ll ask the General Conference to respond to this. For now, however, let’s move on to the final e-mail. Before I share it with you, let me ask you: Do you know what the loud cry is?

This is the movement produced by the angel who joins the 3rd angel in the proclamation of the final warning to the world. You can read all about it in The Great Controversy in the chapter that used to be called The Loud Cry, but which is now entitled The Final Warning.

The following is from the opening two paragraphs of that chapter:

“I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.” “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Revelation 18:1, 2, 4.

“This scripture points forward to a time when the announcement of the fall of Babylon, as made by the second angel of Revelation 14 (verse 8), is to be repeated, with the additional mention of the corruptions which have been entering the various organizations that constitute Babylon, since that message was first given, in the summer of 1844.” The Great Controversy, page 603.

On page 606, inspiration declares that under the loud cry “the sins of Babylon will be laid open.”

What sins?

All of them, including those committed after 1844.

Beloved, if we’re to call God’s children out of Babylon; if we’re to reach men and women who know little if anything of the sordid history of the Roman Catholic Church, then it stands to reason that we’ll be empowered by heavenly intelligences to give ample reasons for this exodus! The exposure of Babylon’s sins is at the heart of this process.

Over the past 30 years, convinced that it will be part of the loud cry, I’ve repeatedly written about one particular sin – i.e., the under publicized Holocaust that occurred during World War II in the former Yugoslavia at the hands of the Roman Catholic Church and Hitler’s appointee, Ante Pavelich.

To me, this bloodcurdling trip back in time is perhaps the icing on the cake, the gem; at the very least it’s one more irrefutable fact of history tying Hitler, the Holocaust, and all of World War II to the global aspirations of the Roman Catholic Church.

The Crusade to top all Crusades, this post-1844 bloodbath tops the list of the sins of Babylon for which she will one day have to answer, not only before God, but one day soon, I believe, before man. In Croatia alone, officially some 750,000 Serbian and Jewish lives were snuffed out, many while being given the option “Convert or Die.”

Convert to what?

Why, the religion of the Fuehrer of course – Roman Catholicism!

Many ‘converted’ and were still horribly executed. There’s more than a hint of it in Adventist Crime Scenes, Part 6, where we introduce Ante Pavelich, the butcher, to our audience. You can understand my interest, therefore, when we received the final e-mail to which I wish to draw your attention this morning.

“I lived in Serbia, and Yes, lots of killings were done by Ante Pavelich and Vatican to the Serbs who wouldn’t accept Roman Catholic Religion. People were starving to death and Vatican was giving food to people with the condition to accept Romanism … over 1 million Serbs were kill by Croatian Fascists call “Ustashi” that were led by Roman Catholic Church. Great Number of Roman Catholic Priests were personally involved and by their own hands were slaughtering Serbian people, it’s all in the history of the II WW …

“I’m starting to ‘bark’ more and more, louder and louder (same as you are doing) and will expose everything I know. God is saying “we must preach the truth, and let the truth do the cut” … I’m praying for you and wanted to write you and email, saying thank you for the truth you saying.

“Also, I would like to partner with you and help you as much as I can for distribution of the Great Controversy Book. Is there a way also to get one copy as well? Also the Time Magazine that you advertise for anyone who would partner with you?

First of all I don’t want to partner just to get these materials but because God is telling me to do so. And want to see how we can help you and also all the material you have we can help share and do our part as well. Right now I have about $3,500 that I would like to donate and partner with you, but want to talk to you, how and what would be the best way to give you this donation.”

Imagine that. Four different responses to the same videos.

  • One tells me I’ve gone to the King of Tyre.
  • A German brother perceives us as continuing the Reformation.
  • A Russian sister, fed up of what the official church is peddling there, wants to publish The (New, Illustrated) Great Controversy in her homeland.
  • While corroborating the terrifying history of the Roman Catholic Church in his country, a Yogoslavian brother has made his appreciation of our material known.

I can’t wait until we start hearing from those in Saudi Arabia and other Moslem countries whom we know are watching our videos. YouTube’s statistical report, which I access probably 20 to 30 times per day, not only tells us how many times our videos are being viewed, but what videos are being watched, where they’re being watched, and for how long!

What do you make of the breath of fresh air sweeping over our ministry today? What do you make of the ethnic and geographic diversity of the e-mails just reviewed?

It’s a glorious turnaround for a ministry that someone once derisively told me was “going nowhere.” One thing I can tell you for sure, Satan’s not taking this revived interest in our ministry lying down.

The key development behind this web page and our intensified prayer for fire is a report we received barely two weeks ago. Evidently alarmed at the growing interest in our ministry, Satan has resorted to slander.

There’s nothing new here. Paul had to deal with slander; so did Ellen White.

In Romans 3:8, Paul deals with the charge that he and other Christians actually encouraged evil-doing for the purpose of provoking the grace of Christ. In this verse he not only denies the charge, but justifies the damnation of those who leveled it:

“And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.”

Ellen White too had to deal with this. In one case she famously wrote:

"Mrs. Burdick has made statements which are glaring falsehoods. There is not a shade of truth in her statements. Can it be that she has repeated these false statements till she sincerely believes them to be truth?” Manuscript Releases Volume Eight [Nos. 526-663], Page 239.

Frankly I’d have been a fool not to expect some reaction from the devil to the Adventist Crime Scenes series; in fact I knew it while preaching it; I felt it in my bones that this would stir Satan perhaps as never before. Would I be killed, arrested on trumped up charges, or simply disappear?

Knowing the hot potato expose’s that have been placed, I believe, by God Himself upon my shoulders (Rome’s Responsibility for the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln, Vatican culpability in the Holocaust, etc.) for years I’ve warned my family about all these possibilities. Granted I didn’t know where Satan would strike next, but now that he has, what am I to do?

“Blessed are ye,” Jesus said, “when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake, Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” Matthew 5:11, 12. I know I’m supposed to rejoice, but is this all? How can it be?

Those who know me and have known me for ten, twenty, thirty years know what makes me happy, what makes me sad; they know what lifts me outside of myself and what at times compels me to put my life on the line for the gospel; they know what’s kept me working day in, day out, for the past 42 years, but those who don’t know will be subject to Satan’s mischief. You might call our reaction overkill, but I felt I had to do something.

Drafting this web page was the easy part, but there has to be much more aggressive warfare on our part now; to sit still is to let the devil define us. The recent victories attending our ministry have all been too hard fought for that. There’s simply too much at stake now for me to remain silent.

  • The (New, Illustrated) Great Controversy must be reprinted!
  • Islam must be challenged with the Word of God!
  • Satan must be fought, hand to hand, blow for blow, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, until one of us drops!

And just how are we expected to do hand-to-hand combat with a being so powerful he could pull and push Jesus about like a rag doll, once setting Him down on a pinnacle of the temple, and, that having failed, carrying Him next to an exceeding high mountain, there to show Him the splendors of the world?

How do we fight him, I ask?

Evidently the same way Jesus did. “And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.” Luke 6:12.

“The greatest victories to the church of Christ or to the individual Christian are not those that are gained by talent or education, by wealth or the favor of men. They are those victories that are gained in the audience chamber with God, when earnest, agonizing faith lays hold upon the mighty arm of power.” Patriarchs & Prophets, page 203.

What does this mean? It means that I need to pray like Elijah for God to make it plain that He’s the one steering our ministry; He’s the one behind the surge in interest in us; He’s the one who’s put His Holy Spirit upon me and bidden me preach his word!

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are …” 1 Corinthians 1:27, 28.

Does not David Mould qualify here?

Oh yes! On all five counts too, but claiming this promise is insufficient. I need to be doing much more than merely reciting verses now. That’s why I’m praying for fire, again!

Frankly, all three – our German engineer, Russian supporter and Yugoslavian translator – plus those poised now to partner with us, they’re going to need that fire too. If they’re to climb over the obstacles that Satan has already started to hurl, they’re going to need to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is indeed with us.

Thankfully, our gracious Heavenly Father has done it before.

Two decades ago I asked for a sign and got a sign, a glorious sign! Possessing neither Urim nor Thummim (See Patriarchs & Prophets, page 351), and not knowing where else to turn, I publicly asked God to answer by fire my petition for survival. I didn’t tell Him how I wanted the fire to fall, or where, because I simply didn’t know.

To be frank with you, looking back at it now I realize I also didn’t grasp the magnitude of what I was asking God, but that’s what I felt impressed to do at the time – i.e., to ask Him to answer me by fire!

There are probably more than three instances in the Bible, but right now I can only think of three where God answered any of His children by fire.

  1. “And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering,” Genesis 4:4. How was that respect shown? “Fire flashed from heaven and consumed the sacrifice.” (Patriarchs & Prophets, page 71).
  2. Elijah’s prayer on Carmel was answered by fire (see I Kings 18:38).
  3. Solomon’s prayer at the dedication of the temple was answered by fire (see II Chronicles 7:1).

So who was I to ask God to answer me by fire? What gave me the boldness to ask for that fire? The promises of God: among them John 15:16

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”

Whatsoever ye shall ask. At the time of my prayer this promise had already been etched upon my heart for two solid decades. But why? Where did this sense of having been chosen to preach His word come from? It’s a long story, but it’s been a settled part of my psyche for 37 years – and I’ve claimed it over and over again!

“The rich promises of the word of God are for the workers, the good and faithful. ‘He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing bringing his sheaves with him.’” The Review and Herald, June 10, 1880.

  • Was I not a worker for God? Yes I was, and had been at that time for 20 years.

  • Back in 1972 as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s prison ministry program in New York City, had I not preached my first sermon at the Rikers Island prison even before I was baptized? Yes I had. Though roasting with fever that day, I was so excited to be preaching the Word of God that wild horses couldn’t have stopped me!

  • Moving on from there I’d return to my homeland, Jamaica, and under the prodding of God, breach the walls of four key prisons there: The General Penitentiary, St. Catherine District Prison (including Death Row), St. Jago Correctional Center for Women, and Fort Augusta Prison. To all who wanted to see, God gave full proof of my ministry with baptisms behind bars that are still bearing fruit.

  • Is not my 5:30 a.m. prayer partner a man whom we baptized at the General Penitentiary in 1976? The bullet that left him for dead won him to the Lord and loaned him to me. Oh how his prayers consistently lift me!

According to Mrs. White’s statement above (about God’s promises being for His workers) this decades old commitment to the gospel ministry qualified me to be a legitimate recipient of God’s promises. And oh, did I claim that privilege. At the time of this prayer there was only one thing I wanted from God, and it was deliverance from Satan’s attacks. The token I publicly sought? Fire!

I don’t recall keeping this prayer in God’s face, so to speak, but what I did was faithfully continue to minister for Him until that memorable day, that thrilling day, that absolutely spectacular day when my wife matter-of-factly handed me the report of a fire that had broken out hundreds of miles away in the press-room of … guess who? The very person who at the time seemed most intent on destroying our ministry.

You could have bowled me over with a feather.

God had answered!

How much time had elapsed since I’d published that prayer? A couple months, maybe; I really don’t remember, but the point is God answered me!

Oh beloved, life isn’t fun until you have enemies! I say, life isn’t fun until you’ve watched God roll up His sleeves and defend you before the lying lips of your enemies! Did He not say “Vengeance is Mine”?

From that day to this I’ve taken that fire not merely as an answer to my prayer, but as a pledge from God that as long as I remain faithful to Him, He will guide our ministry through all our struggles, and orchestrate our passage past all the fiery darts of the enemy.

In spite of this direct answer to prayer, however, in spite of the rich legacy of deliverance that’s attended us; yea, in spite of the equally rich promises to which I cling, I confess I have my doubts. Inaudible to those looking on, my conversations with the Lord often include questions like these:

  • “Who remembers that fire, Lord? That was 21 years ago!”
  • “What about today?”

Why the cheek? The same alluring quality in our videos that’s attracting some, is enraging others. On top of this, our public request for help to reprint The (New, illustrated) Great Controversy by the millions seems to be maddening Satan himself.

And then there’s this.

Two weeks before the General Conference session in 2010, I’d traveled to Silver Spring to warn one of the Vice Presidents of the General Conference whom I knew (a man by the name of Ted Wilson) about the satanic interpretation of Ezekiel 9 held by some in the Shepherd Rod community. Fearing for the safety of the leaders of the church, who’d soon be gathered under one roof in Atlanta, I’d boarded that plane.

Long before Waco I’d become quite alarmed by the Davidians, one of whom told me to my face that he was an angel (that’s what the man said!) and that he’d be killing Seventh-day Adventist pastors before Christ returns.

I can’t begin to tell you how stunned I was to discover that Elder Wilson knew nothing of this doctrine, knew nothing of the avowed purpose of some of these fanatics to slaughter Seventh-day Adventist ministers before Christ returns. All I knew was that the Georgia Dome presented plenty of opportunity for some lunatic, or team of lunatics, to show up with weapons and wreak havoc. To what extent that meeting with Elder Wilson was responsible for the hundreds of security personnel hired for Atlanta, I’ll probably never know, but I’d done my job.

Do you think this endeared me to the Shepherd Rod community?

Spewing out wrath, some have been on a rampage since. These hate me with a passion, but it doesn’t really matter. I might be a dissident Seventh-day Adventist, but I’m still a baptized member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. That day in Silver Spring I did my duty as I saw it. I might not know what’s going on behind the scenes as plans for my demise are made, revised, and made again, but as a former staff member told me yesterday, “Brother Mould, your ministry has stood the test of time. Where are those who tried to wipe you out? Where are they?”

Tragically one killed himself. As for this current crop? All I know is that they’re whispering.

"Four million dollars to reprint the next million books; that’s madness! Besides, could a loving God really have put into David Mould’s mouth the harsh words uttered in the Adventist Crime Scenes series?"

As I contemplate the big bull’s-eye planted on my chest, sometimes I wonder why I’m hated as much as I am. I’ve had lies told about me that were written with all the skill, all the persuasion of a conference-call of demons. Yet all that comes back to me, whether in the night seasons, or in the mornings with my prayer partner, or throughout the day as I faithfully labor, are God’s unerring words:

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” Isaiah 41:10-13.

This time around (i.e., today, October 21st, 2014) it’s not survival that I’m praying for, but public confirmation of my call. That’s all I’m asking of God – and to my mind, it’s the least He can do! So once again the pot is boiling. Once again this hopelessly maligned worker needs God to make a few things plain.

Such as?

  1. Who directed me to our new video editor? Was that a chance encounter with the King of Tyre, O God, or was it You leading me to one of your servants, not yet of our faith, and in need of instruction?
  2. I’ve accused the leadership of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of having money as their god. Did You put these words in my mouth, dear Father, or am I deluded?
  3. I’ve called for Seventh-day Adventists by the millions to protest The Great Hope scam by diverting their tithe to lay ministries intent on finishing the work. Was that You speaking through me, dear God, or am I deluded?
  4. I’ve asked You for the marketing acumen and finances sufficient for our ministry to republish and market 100,000,000 copies of the book whose copyright I believe You prompted us to secure in 1990 – i.e., The (New, Illustrated) Great Controversy.
    • Did You give us this book, or did it just accidentally float into our hands?
    • Did You put this prayer for 100,000,000 copies in my heart, or am I a madman?
    • Did You give me the key verse needed to topple Islam, or am I dreaming?

I need to know, and I want the world to know, that’s why I’ve asked You, dear Father, not for the life of my enemies, for maybe they’ll all repent and yet be saved, but for confirmation of my call – i.e., for fire, again! This should be sufficient to still these whispering tongues. As with the previous prayer, I can’t tell You how or where to send that fire, but I’m asking for fire bright enough for our very enemies to see!

How did Elijah frame His prayer?

“And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.” 1 Kings 18: 36.

Beloved, please don’t miss this. Elijah wanted no doubt to exist as to who sent him. Without some visible token from God, Israel could have accused the prophet from Gilead of being a wild enthusiast, a man inspired by Beelzebub, just as they accused Jesus in Matthew 12:24. And so from the heights of Carmel that day, Elijah pleaded with God: “please make it plain that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word!”

Did God answer?

“Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.” 1 Kings18:38.

Will the fire again fall for me?

I believe it will.

All right, let’s come back to earth. Let’s return to the business at hand. Let’s continue now with our campaign to raise the outstanding balance of $10,725 due our editor. He is due to be paid within 30 days of our project having ended, which makes our payment due on or before October 31st. In short, I’ve got 10 days left.

May the first flame of this fire, O God, fall so clearly and brightly that we’ll be able to pay our editor from it. That’s my prayer.

And then again – No!

Father please forgive me. Let not my puny expectations limit You who are “able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20. If You want the whole fire to fall at this time, who am I to settle for a mere flame? Let it fall!
